abriel G Tabarani is a recognised expert on Middle East and North African affairs. He graduated from the French University in Beirut (St Joseph), specialising in Political and Economic Sciences. He started working in 1973 as a reporter and journalist for the pan-Arab magazine “Al-Hawadess” in Lebanon, later becoming its Washington, D.C. correspondent. He subsequently moved to London in 1979, joining “Al-Majallah” magazine as its Deputy Managing Editor. In 1984, he joined “Assayad” magazine in London as its Managing Editor and later as Editor-in-Chief. In 1990, as a Managing Editor, he joined “Al-Wasat” magazine (part of the Dar-Al-Hayat Group) in London. In 2011, he became the Editor-In-Chief of Miraat el-Khaleej (Gulf Mirror). abarani has already authored five books. The first, “The Tears of the Horizon,” is a love story. The second, “The Winter of Discontent in The Gulf” (1991), focuses on the first Gulf War sparked by Saddam Hussein’s invasion of Kuwait. His third book is “Israeli-Palestinian Conflict: From Balfour Promise to Bush Declaration: The Complications and the Road to a Lasting Peace” (March 2008). The fourth book is titled “How Iran Plans to Fight America and Dominate the Middle East” (October 2008), and the fifth and most recent book is titled “JIHAD’S NEW HEARTLANDS – Why The West Has Failed To Contain Islamic Fundamentalism.” (May 2011).

Furthermore, he wrote the memoirs of U.S. national security advisor to US President Ronald Reagan, Mr. Robert McFarlane, serializing them in “Al-Wasat” magazine over 14 episodes in 1992, which was published later by Mr. McFarlane in 1994 in a book under the title “Special Trust.”

ver the years, he interviewed and met several world leaders such as American President Bill Clinton, British Prime Minister Margaret Thacher, King Hassan II of Morocco, King Hussein of Jordan, Tunisian President Zein El-Abedine Bin Ali, Lybian Leader Moammar Al-Quadhafi, President Amine Gemayel of Lebanon, President Emile Lahoud of Lebanon, Lebanese President Michel Suleiman, Lebanese Prime Minister Rafic Hariri, Palestinian Chairman Yasser Arafat, Haitian President Jean Claude Duvalier, United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Algerian President Shadhli Bin Jedid, Jamaican Prime Minister Edward Siyagha and more.

urthermore, Mr Tabarani has worked in Beirut, Tunis, Washington, Montreal, and London, with business experience as Chairman & CEO of multiple International Investment Groups.

In addition to his journalistic work, Mr. Tabarani is a businessman and investor in several projects and companies. He was a partner, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and President of Cleopatra International Investment Group in Ireland (1996-2004), which opened the Palace Hotel and Resort (5 stars) in Cap Gammarth, near the Tunisian capital and after the first casino and lounge in Hammamet, Tunisia.

The group also opened a Time Share Hotel in Tabarka, and a travel agency called Ceasar Travel. In 2004, Mr. Tabarani, along with a group of Italian bankers, opened a financial company in the city of Milan, Italy, called Royal Invest, which he withdrew from in 2005 to travel to Canada to open Viva Investment Group International, which aimed at that time to build a massive entertainment complex in the city of Sutton, where he headed Its Board of Directors and was its Chief Executive officer, but the financial events of 2008 prevented the realization of such a vast project. He is now a Shareholder in GMH Do Brasil (Brazil), a shareholder in Sardothien Investments Limited (Ireland), Elite Sports Promotions (Ireland), and a Strategic Investor in Paliant Limited (Ireland).
